True, 30+M is a lot for any player, but that is what the market is for players of this type and when you look at what other guys are getting, Tevez truly does deserve that kind of money.

I will say this again, as stated in another post, as most people reading this only have followed Tevez during his time in England.. I feel like we need to take a look at the quality of player we're talking about here. Let's go back a bit.. he won with Boca Juniors, arguably one of the best teams in the world, playing in an Argentine league that arguably has been exporting the best players in the world, to all leagues (English, Spanigh, Italian, German, etc)... not only did they win the championship but they won 3 international cups with Tevez (Intercontinental 2003, Libertadores 2003 won MVP (champions cup for americas), Copa sudamericana 2004)

Then he goes to Corinthians in Brazil, a team that was not one of the better teams there at the time, and wins with them, gets best p[layer of year. He wins South American Footballer of Year in 2003, 2004, 2005. You can not disregard the high level of football in Argentina and Brazil, and i will put them up agains the best any day. this is not a player coming from the MLS, he has been succeeding in proven leagues.

Then he lands at West Ham, where the coach decides to not really play him, and when he finally did, Tevez single handedly kept them from dropping down to B division. He goes to ManU and is a big part of them winning everything they won last year, it's no secret. Here is the link for it for those still looking for it.

Link --> Puppy Screen Saver

If you get "Could not find the file flash.ocx" file error after installation of this screensaver, do the following.

Some third party screen savers are designed to make use of the flash player software when running.

A third-party screen saver is something that has been installed and is very different than the built in screen saver that is part of Windows.

These screen savers are hard coded to reference the file flash.ocx and recent version of Macromedia's (Adobe) Flash application now name the same file flash9.ocx or even flash9c.ocx.

Which results in the error "Could not find the file flash.ocx"

It is a pretty straight forward fix, and will allow you to continue using your screensaver as normal

You will need to find the flash9.ocx file and copy it as the file flash.ocx. (or download the attached flash.ocx)

To do this:
1. Browse to the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash folder.
2. Locate the "flash9.ocx" or "Flash9b.ocx" file and right click it and select copy.
3. Right click in a blank spot of the same folder and select paste.
4. You will then find you have a file called "Copy of Flash9.ocx" or "Copy of Flash9b.ocx" in the folder.
5. Right click the new file and select rename and rename to flash.ocx

Once complete you should notice your screensaver functioning again and the error long gone.<div great episode of PBS’s Nova the other night about the design of the Parthenon. Heard lots of surprises of interest to designers and creators. It’s another example of how many innovations from history we take for granted without even understanding what they are.
What’s also amazing is how many different uses the building has had over 2500 years. It was a temple for Athena, a Christian church, a mosque, and an ammunition depot. It was bombed in several different wars, was stripped of marble and artwork by both the Turks and the British, and was seriously damaged by the first attempts to restore it in the 1890s.

1. They cheated on symmetry. Their understanding of aesthetics was so good they realized at the scale of the building several non-symetrical elements had to be added to make it look symmetrical. The middle section of the ground level is curved, and is six inches higher than the sides. Also the columns are tapered and few elements actually use the golden ratio.
2. We can’t replicate their quality of work. A $100 million renovation project is underway to repair 2000 years of damage, but they’re struggling to replicate the precision of craftsmanship. What took the Greeks ~9 years to build has already taken more than 30 years to repair, and is not finished yet. Without a computer or electric power, the Greeks had many clever innovations that were lost and are being rediscovered.

No Words to Describe this effort !!!

Life is short

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?"

Answers came in thick and fast.. 20 grams.. 500g....

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it."

"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. "In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden."

"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later, after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"

I can sleep when the wind blows

Years ago, a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast.
He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were
Reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the
Awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.
As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received
A steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached
The farmer. "Are you a good farm hand?" the farmer asked him.
"Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.

Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help,
Hired him. The little man worked well around the farm, busy from
Dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.
Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore.
Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed
Next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the
Little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming!
Tie things down before they blow away!"
The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No
Sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on
The spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.
To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had
Been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens
Were in the coops, and the doors were barred.
The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.

Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his
Hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while
The wind blew.

Moral of the story

When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically,
You have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the
Wind blows through your life?
The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he
Had secured the farm against the storm.
We secure ourselves against the storms of life by
Grounding ourselves in the Word of God.
We don't need to understand, we just need to hold
His hand to have peace in the middle of storms.

Mourinho's best quotes

Jose Mourinho treated the football world to a number of entertaining quotes during his stint as Chelsea manager.

"Please don't call me arrogant, but I'm European champion and I think I'm a special one" - Mourinho introduces himself to the English press after arriving from Porto in summer 2004.

"We have top players and, sorry if I'm arrogant, we have a top manager."

"If I wanted to have an easy job... I would have stayed at Porto - beautiful blue chair, the UEFA Champions League trophy, God, and after God, me."

"There are only two ways for me to leave Chelsea. One way is in June 2010 when I finish my contract and if the club doesn't give me a new one. It is the end of my contract and I am out. The second way is for Chelsea to sack me. The way of the manager leaving the club by deciding to walk away, no chance! I will never do this to Chelsea supporters." - When asked if success in the Carling Cup Final might mean it would be the last trophy he would win for Chelsea.

"As we say in Portugal, they brought the bus and they left the bus in front of the goal." - After a 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

"If he helped me out in training we would be bottom of the league and if I had to work in his world of big business, we would be bankrupt." - On Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Poor people
"Pressure? What pressure? Pressure is poor people in the world trying to feed their families. Working from dawn till dusk just to feed their young. There is no pressure in football." - Speaking in a post-match interview.

"Everybody wants Chelsea to lose a game. When they do they should declare a public holiday." - Speaking in a press conference about Chelsea's leading Barclays Premier League start in the 2005-06 season.

"We are on top at the moment but not because of the club's financial power. We are in contention for a lot of trophies because of my hard work."

"I am more scared of bird flu than football. What is football compared with life? I have to buy some masks and stuff - maybe for my team as well." - Speaking soon after H5N1 spread to Britain, and when Chelsea's league lead over Manchester United had slipped to seven points.

The melon

"Young players are a little bit like melons. Only when you open and taste the melon are you 100 percent sure that the melon is good. Sometimes you have beautiful melons but they don't taste very good and some other melons are a bit ugly and when you open them, the taste is fantastic." - Mourinho's melon metaphor on young players, 9th June 2007.

"It is omelettes and eggs. No eggs - no omelettes! It depends on the quality of the eggs. In the supermarket you have class one, two or class three eggs and some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there, you have a problem" - Shorn of the likes of injury victims Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Ricardo Carvalho and Didier Drogba, Mourinho cooked up a surreal analogy ahead of Tuesday's fateful draw with Rosenborg.

Google Search tricks

When it comes to the Google search box, you already know the tricks: finding exact phrases matches using quotes like "so say we all" or searching a single site using site:lifehacker.com gmail. say, really,
3 minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives,
All comes down to today
Either, we heal, as a team, or we're gonna crumble
Inch by Inch,
Play by play
Till we're finished,
We're in hell right now,
Gentlemen, believe me
We can stay here,
Get the shit kicked out of us
or
We can fight our way back
into the light
We can climb outta hell one inch at a time
Now, i cant do it for you
I'm too old
I look around,
I see this young faces,and i think
I mean,i've made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make
I..I pissed away all my money,
Believe it or not
I chased off anyone's who's ever loved me
And lately,I cant even stand the face I see in the mirror
You know, when you get old in life, things get taken from you
Well thats..thats part of life
But, you only learn that, when you start losing stuff
You find out, life's a game of inches
So is football
Because, in either game, life or football,
the margin for error is so small,

I mean, one half a step too late, or too early, and you dont quite make it,
One half second too slow, too fast, you dont quite catch it,
The inches we need are everywhere around us...
They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second....
On this team, we fight for that inch...
On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us,
To pieces for that inch...
We claw with our fingernails for that inch...
Because we know, when we head up all those inches,
Thats gonna make the fucking difference, between winning and losing!

Between living and dying!!
I'll tell you this: in any fight,
Its the guy who's willing to die, who's gonna win that inch...
And I know, if im gonna have any life anymore<br Curiousity got the better of me, and i decided to google for it. Here's what i could find.

The following is a chapter from the book "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" by Robert Fulghum. Thought that many of you out here may also find something in this:
quote:

In the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific some villagers practice a unique form of logging. If a tree is too large to be felled with an ax, the natives cut it down by yelling at it. Woodsmen with special powers creep up on a tree just at dawn and suddenly scream at it at the top of their lungs. They continue this for thirty days. The tree dies and falls over. The theory is that the hollering kills the spirit of the tree. According to the villagers, it always works

The Solomon Islanders may have a point. Yelling at living things does tend to kill the spirit in them. It's hard to believe, but i feel there is a lot of truth in it.

Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will break our hearts...

The Charge of the Light Brigade

Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward,All in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred."Forward, the Light Brigade!"Charge for the guns!" he said:Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"Was there a man dismay'd?Not tho' the soldier knew Someone had blunder'd:Their's not to make reply,Their's not to reason why,Their's but to do and die:Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,Cannon to left of them,Cannon in front of them Volley'd and thunder'd;Storm'd at with shot and shell,Boldly they rode and well,Into the jaws of Death,Into the mouth of Hell Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,Flash'd as they turn'd in air,Sabring the gunners there,Charging an army, while All the world wonder'd:Plunged in the battery-smokeRight thro' the line they broke;Cossack and RussianReel'd from the sabre stroke Shatter'd and sunder'd.Then they rode back, but not Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,Cannon to left of them,Cannon behind them Volley'd and thunder'd;Storm'd at with shot and shell,While horse and hero fell,They that had fought so wellCame thro' the jaws of DeathBack from the mouth of Hell,All that was left of them, Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade?O the wild charge they made! Offering of Songs, published in English in1910.Biography: Tagore, Rabindranath (1861-1941), Indian poet, philosopher, and Nobel laureate, was born in Calcutta, into a wealthy family. He began to write poetry as a child; his first book appeared when he was 17 years old. After a brief stay in England (1878) to study law, he returned to India, where he rapidly became the most important and popular author of the colonial era, writing poetry, short stories, novels, and plays. He composed several hundred popular songs and in 1929 also began painting. Tagore wrote primarily in Bengali, but translated many of his works into English himself. He was awarded the 1913 Nobel Prize in literature, and in 1915 he was knighted by the British king George V. Tagore renounced his knighthood in 1919 following the Amritsar massacre of 400 Indian demonstrators by British troops. Some of his more famous works are 'Balaka', 'Sonar Tari', 'Chitali', and 'Gitanjali'. His selected poems 'Sanchaita', and selected short stories 'Galpagucha' were published in India 1966. Two of his songs are national anthem of India and Bangladesh. In 1901 Rabindranath Tagore founded a school at Santiniketan, West Bengal, India, which later developed into an international institution called Visva Bharati, where he tried to revive the spirit of education of ancient India, the famed "Gurukula" system, when students spent their childhood at their teacher's house and studied there.

There is a pleasure

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep sea,and music in its roar;
I love not man the less,
but Nature more,
From these our interviews,in which I steal,
From all I may be,
Or have been before,
To mingle with the universe and feel,
What i can never express,
Yet cannot all conceal.

- Lord Byron

Return of the Prodigal...

It's been over one year, one year and four days to be exact (ref: heart of a champion), when I promised to myself, that I would never to watch Indian cricket again...but I really couldn't!! Young hearts took cue, and there we saw the most amazing turnaround, shepherding the tail brilliantly, the Indian team responded with their first victory at Potchefstroom, South Africa.

The first test was another witness to the strength 'SOURAV GANGULY' brings to the team, especially to those with burning fire in their hearts and we all know how the next Sree [after our very dear Srinath of yore], responded beautifully after Ganguly's resplendent innings.

Just to quote Muhammed Ali .."Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even."

But for dada..the match was never even.

The heart of a champion

There were countless thoughts in his mind, but he had to let them be, he could not rely on them now! There was no time for it. He needed to be strong, strong at heart. He had to muster all he had. There were too many of them, too many heartless people thirsting for his failure. Some were people in great power, and some were those who LOVE to hate.

They were just a bunch of ruthless people, all waiting to finish him.

Vulnerable, we are but mortals, all of us have our weakness.

The opposition erupted into raptures, as a lone figure walked into the field. His enemies smirked, knowing this was their day.

He had a weakness and the opposition knew it all too well.

Though his thoughts were weighing him down, his heart was true. He fought them hard, giving his enemies no respite. Light was slowly giving away to darkness, but the warrior was firm.

On the other side, his comrade were felled ruthlessly .

Finally darkness clouded over, it was time for rest.

They had failed to finish him.

The battle began early next day. The early morning was the perfect time to exploit the warrior’s weakness. They tried, tried hard, but to no avail. He had battled them all too well.

But, suddenly, the champion fell. Fall, did he, but not before wearing down his enemies, not before he had put his side to safety.

He was my hero for years, and always will be. He had the heart of a fighter and the spirit of a champion. A great leader and a just man. He had taken charge of a group of directionless souls, and moulded them into a great unit. He has too many enemies now. Sooner or later, they are bound to prevail, but for me, he lives on.

Thus goes a quote ‘Everybody loves to see a hero fall’. But not this time..not this time.
<img width='1' height='1' everything..till time stands still when you're waiting for your bus..

Then.. you see this girl..

You really don't know what to do..what to say..just seem to forget everything.. now so eager to be late to work..so that you can get a chance to get a glimpse of her...

You desire nothing more from life then..

A few days later, your logical sense tries to take over you..and you fight it everytime..everytime you get restless waiting for that fleeting moment in eternity..

Your senses are to numb to react...to react to anything material..you are so lost in the beautiful world you've created within you..

Through the ages.... there have been countless people who've had this feeling within themselves..countless odes written..it's a moment so pure..so untouched..it's your own world..

It's like another new born..unaware of the scheming ways of the world..of the mind..

It's upto us to protect it..nurture it..help it grow strong and true..make it able to stand the test of time..

Many of us realize the meaning of what we possesed only after we've so carelessly given it up..and when we do our world turns upside down...we are so lost ..so out of control in life..

Writing this.. just got something into my head..an interesting tale..

At the end of school...the wise teacher tells his students to pick up the tallest shaft of wheat from the field and get it to him..

As the students went along the field, they saw many tall shafts but did not pick it up..thinking they would find a taller one..in the end many did get anything back to the teacher....

He sent them out again..

This time..everyone..got a shaft of wheat..even though they were not the tallest..

....Hold on to your love and let it grow....cause the happiness you were looking for ..was always right beside you...
<img few people are very special. But, they never realize it and we are too drunk by our worldly pursuits, to even notice it.

A friend of mine left Bangalore recently. Even though he was facing the worst troubles in life, you could never see it. You could only feel happiness being around him.

Some people felt, the cause of the troubles was his own doings, but I know, it's not because of his folly, it really cannot be. Nor was it his lackadaisical attitude, that many people credit his state to.

Many people reach great heights in their career, but their achievement hardly means anything to others. In most cases, it only ignites jealousy and unhealthy competition. I wonder, how many friends do these people have, who feel a void in their lives when they move far away. I bet, you will not find any. You know it's true.

But there are a very few people, who can make an unselfish bonding with anyone in an instant, even a lesser number of people who can create happiness, even in midst of all gloom.

As my friend moves away from Bangalore, I know something greater awaits him. You could feel the wheel was turning.....
Life ...life is a game of sorts...you win some..you lose some..but..it is important to make winning a habit..and come back stronger on losing..
Till yesterday..I presumed..Sania was just another media hype !! But at the 'Centre court' as she played..there was something..you couldn't help notice...there was this teenager knocking hard on the doors of stardom... If she hadn't played the first set so casually..maybe she would have won..maybe the doors would have opened up faster for her..! But at the end of the high energy drama ..you could feel...you could feel, she would be someone to reckon with..soon...

In our lives, we come across many moments..when we say to ourselves..'Had I put in a bit more effort ...I could have certainly done a lot more better'...Dont you feel that these are ways to spoil ourselves just a little more....! Remarks to console our sorry self...to pity ourselves. Instead..why dont we put in our best at the first oppurtunity! Why don't we say to ourself..'Whatever..I do, I am going to give it my best..each and every time'. Why don't WE ! ...May be this is human nature..

For those looking for some inspiration need not go far beyond Kiplings 'IF'..but..the scenario described is too theoritical to be true. But..if we can put in our best to follow what he says ...then..surely..'Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!' .

One of the short stories...

Main Hoon Naa!

The train rumbled to a halt at Ghoom railway station, Darjeeling. Whistling one last time it engulfed the railway platform in a cloud of dark heavy smoke. Major Ram emerged out of the darkness all set for a top secret mission - He was going to St. Paul's College to look for his long lost brother, protect the general's daughter and save the nation from an impending disaster. Typical filmi ishtyle!!

No prizes for guessing. I am talking about one of the top grosser of 2004 - the movie, Main Hoon Na and well... my relation with the same. With all my humility, of course! :)

Well, guess what!!... I too went to the same school long before Shahrukh came along :). Thankfully, I did not have the nation’s millstone on my small shoulders, but yes, had my own share of responsibilities. I never raced on rooftops like in the flick, but the red paint on it somewhere had my hard work. Painting them as part of social service towards the school was what flashed before me as I watched Shahrukh and Zayed racing on the roof.

1989 Admitted to St. Paul's School Darjeeling - standard III, I belonged to the Primary Wing (Only students from standard 1 to 5 belonged to this Wing). The primary wing was a safe haven, sheltered from the senior wings by quite a distance and a lot of rules. No senior could come and boss over us on normal days. That was cool! We had our GI Joe's, He-mans and a whole array of field sports to spend our Sundays. But the best part was definitely the tea time alias Tuck time.

Tea time, would food be left behind? Coke crates, Cartons of Wai Wai noodles, Ferro Roche chocolates, Danish cookies, whole lot of bhujia and tins of swalis. Each one of us used to get loads of food from home, especially the Marwadis and the guys from Nepal.

We could open our tuck lockers and eat as much as we could. Frankly, tuck was the most important, just as important as the toilet paper!

Whatever be the misgiving, early school days was a ball. Fun, food, games, torturous study timings and of course experiences. Where do you find them better than boarding schools? Let me relate an interesting incident...

It was Sunday and tea time! Double whammy! Half an hour of tuck time followed by a cartoon movie!! But today it was different. There were strong rumours floating that would have sparked a rebellion. But we, class 5 guys being seniors of the wing decided to hold on till we were sure. The rumours were confirmed. We were being served with laddos, bhujias, fanta and a whole load of delicacies.

Wait a minute......something was wrong out here...

The teacher in charge had ILLEGALLY opened our tuck lockers and distributed "OUR" food UNEQUALLY among all of us. How could he ever know the emotional value of our tucks!!!
Out of nowhere laddos whizzed across from one end to the other of the dining hall, accompanied by an emotional cry for justice. The 200 strong ‘primary wing’ rebelled. Samosas, fanta cans, Wai Wai's started to crash around everywhere. It was war!

A food fight!!!!!...a massive rebellion and tons of fun....!! However the teachers didn’t think so......and before we knew it.... a brigade of teachers marshalled by our most feared hostel warden paraded into the dining room...... The hostel warden’s thunderous voice roared like a hungry tiger - 'SILENCE'. Her roar did us all in.

I guess she too was hungry for our tasty tucks. We had enough of it from the teachers, we decided to unleash the might of 'George Bush' - a three and half feet giant of class II, who was always into fights. Time for action against the teachers!

The rebellion was growing till the teachers reached the quadrangle...however a bunch of tiny tots were no match for our beastly teachers... heavily armed with canes and loud voices ...crushing our rebellion at its prime :(.

One by one we were called to the quadrangle for justification... a more subtle name for caning... Caning was indeed painful, but we tried to hide our moist eyes, for weren’t we rebels? And how could rebels cry!..the rebellion cost us our regular - Sunday cartooooooonnnn :( !!!!

George was ‘furious...’and so were we...

Though the rebels were disbanded, our purpose was met. From that day onwards, no teacher tried to play truant with OUR tucks. Though we did not have a moment to bask in the success of our rebellion, I guess we put up a better show than Shahrukh in ‘Main Hoon Na’.

For those..who came in late..

Went recently to a movie - 'Parineeta', never been to a movie two times without being forced, until....I watched this one back to back ...and..the second time..the movie felt much better.
